It is expected that Augmented Reality will take a big leap in the next few years, especially in combination with technological innovations such as blockchain, merging reality and the digital world. Metaverse is something that we also hear about a lot recently, is promisedo become a new evolution step of the internet that will transform everyday life. It is expected that Augmented Reality will take a big leap in the next few years, especially in combination with technological innovations such as blockchain, merging reality and the digital world.
The term “AR Cloud” usually refers to a digital map that serves as an overlay to the real world, allowing to place information and content anywhere tied to its location. This opens the gate to new possibilities of digital content and entertainment, allowing users to experience new locations, enhance their surroundings and view content that is otherwise impossible to exist in the real world. Merging reality and digital content will give unlimited opportunities to artists and creators of any field to express themselves and show their creations to the world, filling it with masterpieces and exotic locations. It also becomes possible to provide services that are linked to a specific location and create personalized experiences.
It is possible to create unique decentralized assets that can be owned as NFTs and displayed using systems like AR Cloud providing users with the ability to not only see their own assets but also to show them to the world. Blockchain technologies can provide AR NFTs with the required level of security and ensure the ownership of every asset.
Smart AR glasses have been promised for a few years already by corporations-giants such as Meta and Apple, and even though there is no exact release date announced for any of them at the moment, the one thing we all can be sure about: the world as we know it will change as soon as the smart glasses will become available to the broad audience.
Worn like usual glasses, they promise to enhance the physical world on the go, adding information, and helping navigate and explore the environment in a multitude of ways. This technology can be applied pretty much in every field, from gaming and advertisement to education and tourism. Using markers, sensors, and geolocation will allow overlaying the world with information and digital assets that will be loaded in run time, especially if combined with the AR Cloud technology.
